Dragonfly creative school: where sewing comes to life
I'm Viki Markó, founder, organiser and director of the Dragonfly Creative School.
The story started from an old family moment. My niece wanted to be a fashion designer, but there were no hobby sewing courses in Pécs. I felt that this had to happen - and that's how the Dragonfly started in 2010.
Since then, over 900 adults, children and a few enthusiastic men have experienced the exhilaration of creating with their own hands.
I'm Anikó Tancsik, menswear maker, vocational instructor. I always wanted to create clothes. I sewed my own trousers at the age of 12, without any help. For me, it's not a profession, but more of a vocation.
A handmade garment is a joy for both the maker and the wearer - whether it is made by a professional or an amateur.
Our credibility is reinforced by the fact that in 2025, Caritas asked us to organise a sewing course and we gave professional advice to an exclusive sewing shop in the area.
As part of our community involvement, we run the Friends of Thread Flowers, where we organise free, fun sewing mornings for pensioners.
The Szitakötő in Pécs offers a friendly, inspiring atmosphere for everyone, whether it's a course or a summer camp. We receive applicants not only from the city, but from all over South Transdanubia.
