Imagine how inspiring it is to sew in a creative, happy group! This advanced course provides exactly that atmosphere: community, momentum and professional development. The focus is on getting you to be braver with new fabrics, more complex techniques and really take your sewing to the next level.

morning group: monday or wednesday 9:00-12:00
During the 4 months you will learn new skills and get lots of practice - and by the end of the course you will be able to work with different types of textiles and more difficult solutions with more ease and confidence.
Important information
- Prerequisite: basic sewing knowledge, sewing machine.
- Courses start with a minimum of 6 participants. If the group does not fill up, the booking can be rescheduled free of charge to another date or programme at least 14 days before the start date.
- For the project work, you bring the textiles you like, with instructions (!) and the necessary supplies.

- Learning about and using different, more difficult to handle materials (Viscous materials - e.g. swimwear, sportswear)
- managing material tension and retraction
- choosing the right needles, threads, feet
- edge clarification, flexible finishes
- Lace - sewing lingerie, for example
- translucent, delicate handling of textiles
- lace fitting according to pattern direction
- stabilisation on lace with simple tricks
- Leatherette - for example backpacks and bags
- use of special pins and needles
- gluing, reinforcing, forming folds
- edge decoration, strong stitching
- Advanced patterns and modifications
- shape adjustment at several points (breast, waist, hip correction)
- shoulder, armhole and sleeve adjustments
- combine patterns and create new styles
- making your own simple pattern designs
- More complex sewing tasks and techniques
- accurate assembly of garments consisting of several pieces
- lined and unlined solutions
- strapping, nailing techniques advanced
- reinforced bag ears, different types of pockets (patch pocket, zipped pocket, flap pocket)
- advanced zipper sewing: hidden, strong, decor, bag zipper
- professional edge cleaning of flexible materials
- handling thin, delicate fabrics (e.g. lace, chiffon, viscose)
- Smaller projects and larger pieces of work
During the course, participants will make a variety of projects to help them learn different techniques. The projects are structured so that each one develops a different skill, so that by the end of the 4 months you will have built up real technical confidence.
